Am I covered?
Many private health insurance schemes give benefit for osteopathic treatment. Insurance schemes vary widely in what they cover. Some will only pay for osteopathic treatment when you have been referred by a GP, specialist or consultant. Some will only pay for treatment from a practitioner registered with their particular scheme, while others will only pay half the cost of treatment or will place an annual limit on payments.
Payment is required at the time of treatment and can be made via cash, cheque or card facilities.
Most insurance companies allow us to bill them directly, though some may reimburse you after you have paid. Receipts are provided for this purpose.
If you have any queries about whether your treatment will be covered by your insurance scheme, then either call your insurance company directly or ask your osteopath prior to the commencement of your initial consultation.
